When male singers were invited to join the Passion choir I decided to give it a go and so I have spent the last two Sunday afternoons with loads of other people rehearsing at English Martyrs church in Preston. Tom, another member of our choir was there too (sorry, Tom, I don't know your surname). We were given a booklet containing the music - none of which I had sung before, so it was a steep learning curve! Among the songs are 'Jerusalem' and 'Surely he hath borne our griefs' from the Messiah - these are great to sing. We've got a full rehearsal at Preston bus station on Thursday evening and the performance proper is at 12 noon on Good Friday - it's on the telly, BBC1, don't miss it!
